Volunteer Opportunities Transportation for residents -- Doctor appointments, school Postal Food Drive -- May -- outside work sorting food items (Indialantic P.O.) Boy Scout Food Drive -- November -- outside work sorting food items (W-D parking lot) Interior Decorating -- decorate a room Pick up donations -- from your area & deliver to Genesis House Sort donations at Genesis House I Gift wrapping for Christmas Party -- a Saturday, early December Help out at annual Christmas Party Teach any skills (money management, tutoring for GED, etc.) Write "Thank You" letters Occasional help with housecleaning Develop ideas for fundraising Fund Raisers Fund-raising activities throughout the year help provide funds to operate our shelters. Fund-raisers include: Golf Tournament in late May, Mothers Day Cards in early May, and Virtual Valentine Party in February. We also participate in Junior League of South Brevard's Festival of Trees and many other fund-raising opportunities throughout the year. We need golfers to play and volunteers to help set-up and prepare for these activities. These fund-raising activities are about more than raising funds. Each time we participate more people learn about Genesis House and become involved or become aware that there is a place that will help homeless pregnant women and mothers with children. |
